April Bacon Fox
Artist, Beader, Chippewa Cree
About
April learned to bead while growing up on the Rocky Boy Reservation in Montana. She was taught by both her Grandmother Short Arm and Mother Alice Day Child. April was taught what to use, by what was available to bead on.
April learned by watching both her Mother and Grandmother bead and would practice her designs secretly until she could show both her mentors her creations.
It has evolved from practicing to beading regalia for friends and family all maintaining the culture and tradition.
Since then April has become a world-renowned artist and craftswoman and her work is located all throughout the United States and Canada.
